Food and drink

Food loving holidaymakers will adore trying and tasting new regional specialities and local produce as they explore. There’s no doubt they’ll find their happy place in La Tremblade. The market is held from Monday to Sunday from 8am-1pm on Place Gambetta. Here you’ll find freshly picked melons and vegetables alongside seafood and Fleur de Sel (speciality salt from Ile de Ré). Stroll from stall to stall and peruse the many local products such as Charentes’ famous pine nuts, cognac, delicious cheese varieties and well-known Charentes baked goods such as Préfou (garlic bread), Tourteau Fromager (cheesecake) or even Gâteau du Marais.
Prepare to have your taste buds tickled; the Charente Maritime is a feast for the eyes and the senses!
